This is an interesting site. I recognise quite a few names from my own family research. My grandfather Gregory Cassidy was born in Buckingham. There used to be quite a few Cassidy's in the area. My great-grandfather worked for the railway, so they moved back and forth between Ottawa and Buckingham. I wonder if there are any Cassidy's left in Buckingham? |

I am Stevena McDonnell. This is Great!!!! Like Donna French (Who is my cousin - Hi Donna) I am a descendent of John J. McDonnell and Bridgid McDonnell - My Grandfather was Francis McDonnell and my Grandmother was Olive Brown - My Father was Gerard Mcdonnell - I am the youngest daughter - I have 3 daughters - Angela - Alexandra and Allison and a Grandson - Benjamin I am really sorry I missed this - I would have loved to bring my Grandson and children so they could meet all the relatives. The Cemetary at Mayo is a wonderfall place to trace your ancestory. Many of the folks that started out in Mayo still have many descendents who have stayed in the area. Many who leave the area come back in the end - my father left but his funeral was held there. Mayo is a place where you can always come bakc and find cousins and realtives you have not seen in years. My Thurso connection was through the Lambert Cavan family, as he married Mary Ann Spooner, my great aunt. Sorry I didn't know about your reunion. Hope you have another. Diane | |||

| Just happened to see this web site today. We are descendants of James Bush and Bridget O'Callaghan, who settled in Buckingham ca. 1830s. My great-grandfather, their son James Henry, was married to Margaret Cosgrove, daughter of Michael Cosgrove who was a drowning victim there. My family moved to the UP of Michigan in the 1870s when the O'Callaghans started a lumber company there. I think Klondike Mike Mahoney may have been our cousin. Would appreciate hearing from any kin or anyone who may know the specific place of origin in Ireland of the Bushes/O'Callaghans. I understand County Clare, but I am not positive of their village. The Cosgroves were from County Cavan. | |||

| I'm the granddaughter of Anthony and Anne Burke and Joseph Dogherty and Catherine McCoy - all from Mayo. My aunt Susan Burke - born and raised in Mayo - is living in Sarsfield and will be 102 in October. If all is well, I hope that she will be able to attend this reunion. Perhaps she will be the oldest participant?? Susan's brother Albert (my dad) and her sister Ruth Dunnigan have passed away. I'm also interested in meeting the families of James Patrick Haley and Ellen Mulvihill (her sister married a McNulty and lives in California). See you in August! | |||

| I'm the ggg-granddaughter of John Rae & Margaret O'Neill who arrived in the Mayo area about 1857. They had 4 children: Mary (m. Peter Kane), Michael John (m. Philomene Laplante), Patrick (m. Catherine Rowan) & Margaret (m. John Hansen Worm). I'd love to hear from any Rae descendants and possibly meet you at the reunion (I'd also love to find the old homestead, which I believe is on the Inlet road). | |||

| I am seraching my great-grandfather Terance CARLIN/CARLING. He lived at Lac Blanche and the log cabin home is still in beautiful shape. My grandmother Mary CARLIN was born there, the third child. Terance and sister Catherine, along with his parents James and Mary (Doherty) CARLIN, came to Grenville in about 1835. I am hoping to locate their home town in Ireland. Terance married Catherine NEILAN/NAILON and they had 9 children. Any connection and I would be thrilled to hear from you! My daughter and I plan to visit in June. | |||

| I am not sure of any direct relation to the Dunnigan families that settled in the Ottawa area. My family settled in Rigaud, PQ in the early 1830s. Two second generation sons, Henry and Charles, settled in Clarence Creek and Ottawa in the late 1800s. Would welcome hearing from others. Question: Does anyone have knowledge of an original homesite of Dunnigans in Ireland? | |||
